Eccole qui! Ho provato a scattare le foto in una stanza buia con una candela accesa, il mio umore è cambiato di colpo, ho scattato più fotografie possibili.

Venerdì pubblicherò le fotografie del corsetto del 18esimo secolo.
Le scatterò venerdì pomeriggio, la modella indosserà anche dei vestiti fatti da me.
Spero proprio che vi piaccia, ho intenzione di pubblicare anche le foto del corsetto del 1903 indossato da lei, in questo modo potrete capire come funziona sul corpo.

On friday i'm publishing the pictures of the 18th century's corset (also known as regency period).
I'll shoot them on friday afternoon, the model will also wear dresses made by me.
I really hope you'll enjoy it, I'll also publish some picture of the 1903 corset worn by my model, in this way it will be possible for you to understand how it works  on the body.

Corsetto del 18esimo secolo ( 18th century corset ).

Ciao a tutti!

Oggi vi parlerò del corsetto che ho appena confezionato.

Ho visto una foto di un corsetto del diciottesimo secolo che mi ha ispirato moltissimo, appartiene ad un museo inglese.

Quello originale ha le congiunture tra pezzo e pezzo in azzurro chiaro, ma io ho deciso di cambiare il colore, infatti le strisce sul mio corsetto sono fatte con un nastro rosa.

Tutti gli occhielli sono ricamati con un filo di seta rosa.

L'intero corsetto è invece realizzato in cotone marrone chiaro,  e foderato con una leggera tela di cotone bianca.

Caricherò le foto del corsetto allacciato il prima possibile.

Today I'm gonna talk you about the corset I've just done.

I saw a picture of an eighteenth century corset that inspired me a lot, it belongs to an English museum.

The original one has light blue stripes but I decided to change the color, in fact my strips are made out with pink ribbon.

Eyelets are embroidered by hand with a pink silk wire.

The entire corset is made out with a light brown cotton fabric and it's lined in white cotton.

I'll charge some picture of it laced up as soon as possible.

fianchi asimmetrici ( asymmetric hips).

I vostri fianchi sono asimmetrici?
Il corsetto potrebbe essere la soluzione.
Avete mai pensato di indossarne uno?
Un corsetto non risolve il problema osseo ma fa sembrare i vostri fianchi simmetrici.
Il trucco è un'imbottitura.
Si indossa sotto al corsetto, in questo modo nessuno penserà che i vostri fianchi sono asimmetrici.
Adesso vi spiego perché.
L'imbottitura che dovreste indossare è fatta con del semplice cotone riempito di ovatta.
Questo metodo è in grado di far sembrare i vostri fianchi simmetrici.
Dovete applicarla sul lato del vostro corpo dove il fianco è più basso dell'altro e indossare il corsetto che una volta allacciato renderà i vostri fianchi uguali.
Si i miei fianchi sono asimmetrici ma da quando ho scoperto questo trucco potrebbero  non esserlo più ;).

The corset could be the solution.
Have you ever thought to wear it?
A corset doesn't solve your bone problems but it makes you seem symmetric.
The trick is a padding to wear under your corset, in this way no one will think you have asymmetric hips. I'm going to explain you how.
The padding you should wear is made out in simple cotton fabric filled with cotton wool, after that you have to wear the corset, and once laced it will make your hips equal.
You have to wear the padding on the side of your body where you have the lowest hip.
Yes ! I have got asymmetric hips, but since I discovered this trick they're not asymmetric anymore ;).

Epoca Vittoriana (Victorian age)

La corsetteria vittoriana prende il suo nome dalla regina Vittoria, sovrana dell'Inghilterra dal 1837 al 1876.

E' ritenuta un'importante figura per la moda del periodo in cui ha vissuto, infatti a quei tempi erano i re e le regine ad influenzare maggiormente il guardaroba dei nobili e dei benestanti.

In questo periodo sono nati buona parte dei metodi di confezionamento degli abiti maschili e femminili che tuttora vengono utilizzati.

La corsetteria vittoriana è la più importante di tutte ed è quella che ha spianato la strada a quella moderna.

Esistono moltissimi cartamodelli di epoca vittoriana che sono arrivati fino a noi.

La stoffa più utilizzata per confezionare i corsetti era il coutil, si trattava di una stoffa pesante in cotone prodotta dalla madrepatria.

Ora viene chiamato jean, questa stoffa è pesante abbastanza da fare in modo che il corsetto non si deformi e non si strappi. I corsetti in coutil o jean erano steccati con stecche di balena o bamboo, gli occhielli invece erano già metallici e non più ricamati a mano.

Le donne dell'epoca utilizzavano il corsetto per migliorare la propria forma facendola diventare più sinuosa, a volte fin troppo e, se costruito in modo corretto, il corsetto era sicuramente un tocca sana per la schiena.

Le corsetterie moderne utilizzano due tipologie principali di corsetto, l'overbust che copre anche il seno, e l'underbust che invece arriva solo fin sotto al seno.

Un consiglio che posso dare è quello di comprare corsetti su misura e mai confezionati industrialmente, sia per la vostra salute sia per il risultato che avrà sulla vostra silouette.

Victorian corsetry takes its name from Victoria, the queen of England from 1837 to 1876.

She is one of the most important fashion figures of that period, at the time queen and king were the inspiration of the noble wardrobe.

During her monarchy were invented lots of sewing techniques today used too.

Victorian corsetry is the most important of all and it opened the route to modern corsetry.

In this period there were a lot of patterns.

Corsets were made out with a cotton fabric called coutil, now known as jean, it was heavy to not allow the corset to rip. They were boned with whale and bamboo boning, and eyelets were made in iron whereas before they were embroidered by hand.

Women used it to get a best shape and to support the spine.

Modern corsets makers usually use two different kind of corset, the overbust used to support the bust, and the underbust that arrive just under the bust.

I advise to not buy corsets that are made in factories but to buy custom corsets.

Corsetto edoardiano del1903 (1903 edwardian corset)

Ecco qua le foto del corsetto dei primi anni del '900.
Spero che vi piaccia, anche la camicetta intima che indossa il manichino è stata fatta da me.
Sono presenti anche le imbottiture di cui vi ho parlato nel post precedente, e si intuisce dalla forma del busto e dalla forma della schiena bassa, senza le imbottiture non potrete mai ottenere questo tipo di forma.
Spero che apprezziate il risultato io ne sono molto soddisfatto!!

Novità riguardo al corsetto del 1903 (News about the 1903 corset).

Cosa sono queste cose strane?? .. Imbottiture, sono necessarie per fare in modo che il corsetto del 1903 (edoardiano) conferisca al corpo la giusta forma.

In quel periodo la forma femminile aveva subito una modifica grazie alla corsetteria che aveva bisogno di cambiare, a causa dei danni che l'eccessivo restringimento della vita nei corsetti vittoriani aveva causato alla struttura ossea e all organismo.

La "nuova forma" faceva in modo che il restringimento della vita fosse possibile senza recare danni alla scatola toracica. 

Con questo nuovo metodo però c'era bisogno di modificare i rapporti tra seno e fondoschiena così si sono create queste nuove imbottiture, in questo modo la vita risultava ancora più stretta. L'imbottitura più grande con i lacci viene legata in vita con la parte rigonfia sul posteriore, e le altre due vengono posizionate a v sotto il seno perché questo corsetto non era studiato per sostenerlo.

What are these strange things??.. Pads, they are necessary for the shape of the 1903 corset!

In that period the female figure changed thanks to the corsetry that needed a modification because the tight-lacing in victorian corsetry was injuring the female body.

The "new shape" made sure that the ribcage wasn't restricted.

But this new way of building corsets needed the insertion of pads in the bust part and in the bottom area so the waist appeared smaller than before. Bust pads helped  to support the bust because the new corset wasn't able to do it.

Piccola anteprima ( little preview).

Ecco qui una piccola anteprima del progetto di cui vi avevo parlato!
Scusate se ci ho messo così tanto ma come potete immaginare non è per niente un lavoro facile.
Come vi avevo già anticipato il corsetto è ispirato ad un modello del 1903, l'ho confezionato con un velluto tedesco marrone, foderato con del cotone pesante, e decorato con del pizzo alto in seta bianca.
Presto posterò la foto del lavoro indossato dalla mia modella, così vedrete l'effetto che ha sul corpo, dato che non ho lavorato su manichino ma su persona.

This is the picture of the corset I spoke you about!
Sorry for the waiting, but it is such a difficult work.
How I told you the corset is inspired to a 1903 corset, it is made out in brown velvet, the lining is made out in white cotton, and I sewed a white silk lace on the top edge of the corset.
I will post a picture of the corset worn by my model, so you'll see how it works on the body, because I didn't work on a mannequin but on a real person.
